Cranio/Facial Clinic

Yesterday we took Lucy to her appointment...that lasted 4 hours! We saw four specialists...a speech pathologist, plastic surgeon {that specializes with the head} pediatric dentist/orthodontist, and and Ear Nose Throat doc... Here is what we know so far

-Lucy has 7th nerve facial paralysis however it is getting better since birth. They are going to "watch and see" a very familiar phrase around Lucy. They might do a nerve convection study later on.

-The surgeon mentioned "those are the most prominent ears I have ever seen" he said this about 3 times...I asked when do we fix these "prominent" ears...not till she is 4, but it will be an easy fix {he said}

-Come back in a month to see if she will need a helmet, in the mean time reposition all the time!

-The ENT wants to do a scope and see what is going on with Lucy's throat. We are waiting for the official report, and then we will make an appointment!

all in all another full day at PCMC and no answers....I felt good about the appointment though!
