We went and saw Lucy's pediatrician yesterday. She now resembles a 10 lb. bag of sugar...that's right our babe is 10 lbs!! Here are a few things discussed at our appointment with Lucy's Dr. {we go every 2 weeks...}
-Lucy lost one ounce...means we have to take her in more frequently to weigh her.
-Lucy's possible need of a helmet...we weren't allowed to give her any belly time for 6 weeks after her surgery...resulting in a lot of unnecessary time on her back. Just one more thing to bother my daughter..however a helmet I can deal with...it's the not swallowing I hate!
-Lucy's age...she is delayed {which is how it is with all preemies} she is acting like a 2-3 month old. Which is a bit behind her adjusted age... It frustrates me... I am waiting for vowel sounds and giggles, which have yet to appear.
-We might add "simply thick" to her belly feedings to help keep some of the reflux down. It's $60 for 200 packets, and we go through 2 a day!
so another day in the life of Lucy...
next up...cranio/facial clinic on Monday... for her face, ears, head, and hopefully her throat...hoping to have an ENT look at her.
-Occupational Therapist Mike comes to our house on tuesday...I just thought however where will he sit...{tearing up house for carpet/furniture on Friday!}
For now we rest....
