How I spent my time

This is Lucy and I doing skin-to-skin.

It was really the only thing I could do...as I couldn't breastfeed, or bottle feed.

So everyday Lucy and I would do some skin-to-skin. 

She would listen to my heart beat and smell my skin, and I would kiss

her orange size head and smell it too. 

This provided me both comfort and peace.

Lucy would tend to do better on the day's that we did skin-to-skin. 

It helped her gain those precious grams/ounces. 

Sometimes I miss pulling the curtain on our little space, putting Lucy close,

then closing our eyes and pretending we are somewhere very different. 

A place where snow isn't flying outside our window, there are no beeping machines or other crying babies.
